Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Traffic Collision

Vince Zampella, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in the state of California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The influential video game developer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, as reported by.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, his family, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
