🔗 Share this article Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients. The Grave Charges The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021. One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” The Investigation These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with: 15 counts of sexual assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen. 1 count of attempted penetrative assault. Police have asked anyone with concerns to contact the relevant police force.
